Facebook Worship

When Superintendent Jon Strother put out the call for creative worship amidst predicted snowfall who knew that Avent Ferry United Methodist Church and Rev. Taylor Mills would become such a media hit.  Rev. Mills shared via Facebook this invitation Saturday afternoon,

It would not be safe or wise of us to try to gather at the church tomorrow for any services or activities, so they are all cancelled. Instead, we’ll be having a VIRTUAL WORSHIP SERVICE on our church’s Facebook page: AFUMC Facebook Page at 11AM Sunday morning, for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Regular congregants, a district superintendent, a past pastor, and others all came togehter in a virtual environment for real worship – The Virtually Connected Body of Christ.

You can view the “liturgy” (remember liturgy is the WORK of the people) on Avent Ferry’s FACEBOOK PAGE. Also, you can read the article on the NBC17 Website.
